Blocked Care Discussion Group

When attempts at parenting with empathy, compassion, and cultivating joy are met with withdrawal, avoidance, or defensiveness, parents may experience a stress response called “blocked care” that causes them to disengage from caregiving as a way to protect themselves from the difficult feelings of disconnection.
We are offering a one-time Blocked Care Discussion Group for parents with adopted children. The group will be part educational, part support group. In the Zoom group, we will have an open discussion and support group around related topics and themes.
All parents with adopted children are welcome to join this one-time virtual group.
