Boston Post Adoption Resources Privacy Statement

Boston Post Adoption Resources (“BPAR”) has created this Privacy Statement in order to demonstrate our commitment to your privacy.  In using our site, we want to provide a safe, secure experience.  We will use our best efforts to ensure that the information you submit to us remains private.  Because we receive many types of information from our users, we feel you should fully understand our policy and the terms and conditions surrounding the capture and use of that information.  This Privacy Statement discloses what information we gather and how we use it.

In general, you can visit the BPAR website without telling us who you are or revealing any information about yourself.  Our Web servers collect the domain names, not the e-mail addresses, of visitors.  This information is aggregated to measure the number of visits, average time spent on the site, pages viewed, etc.  BPAR uses this information to measure the use of our site and to improve the content of our site.

There are times when we may need information from you that personally identifies you such as your name, address, phone number, e-mail address and other identifiers. BPAR uses your information to better understand your needs and provide you with the best service available. We also use your information to help you request or update information, complete a transaction and communicate back to you.    We will not disclose or share personally identifiable information collected with any other company or organization. BPAR will use the information received from individuals only for the purposes reasonably related to the subject matter of the communication.

At times we conduct online surveys to better understand the needs and profiles of our visitors.  When we conduct a survey, we will let you know how we will use the information at the time we collect information from you on the Internet.

We never sell, rent or exchange our supporters’, visitors’ or survey respondents’ personal information without their express consent.

We receive credit card information from our supporters to process donations.  We do not keep credit card information after contributions are processed.  We use a credit card processing company to process contributions.  Neither BPAR nor this credit card processing company retains, shares, stores or uses personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes.  This information is only used to process the transaction.

The BPAR site may contain links to sites or affiliated agencies and other sites we thought might be useful.  While we try to link only to sites that share our high standards and respect for privacy, we are not responsible for the content or the privacy practices employed by other sites.  This privacy statement applies solely to information collected by our website – https://bpar.org.

Opting Out and Corrections

By using this site, you consent to the collection and use of this information by BPAR.  Should we change our privacy policy, we will post any changes on this page so that you are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances we disclose it.
